Membership

More than 8,000 members strong, with 90% of Iowa practicing attorneys belonging. 
 

Board of Governors

The Iowa State Bar Association Board of Governors consists of 49 members and oversees the association operation and implements its policies.  Officers are the President, President-Elect, Vice-President and the Immediate Past-President.

Section and Committees

23 substantive law sections, 29 standing committees, several special, ad hoc committees and task forces perform the essential work of the association.

Sections deal with issues of professional development through continuing education programs and proposing or reacting to legislation affecting their area of practice.

Standing committees oversee the work of the Association in such areas of legal technology, member services, judicial evaluations, delivery of legal services and legal education.
